Christianity is Simple

It is the message that God has done everything to rescue us from sin, without one scrap of human assistance. He did this through the death and resurrection of Jesus. He did it for us when we had no desire for Him. He did it when we deserved judgment. He did it in love. The Bible calls this grace.

We think grace needs to be protected from all kinds of "add-ons" - like finding our purpose or self-improvement. We don't need to search for purpose in life or any principles for self-improvement, not even religious self-improvement. What we need is a right relationship with God.

The best efforts of men and women to improve themselves or be religious usually fall short or don't last. Christianity is God doing it all for us because we cannot save ourselves. Jesus' death and resurrection bring us to God, forgiven of our sin. There is nothing greater than that.

This is the Gospel. The Good News that through Jesus' death, our sins are forgiven and we are brought back to a relationship with God. Most amazing of all, this Gospel that requires us to change nothing changes everything. It alters people's lives from the inside out. It is powerful. We celebrate this every time we are together as a church. We proclaim it to our community.

Oh yes, church! We think church is the primary way we learn to live in God's grace. The church is not a building, nor is it a busy schedule of religious activities. It is people who have experienced forgiveness of sin in Jesus, seeking to help each other understand and live in the goodness and power of Jesus' sacrifice and life for us.

We are a church of people who believe God's grace is amazing and simple. We are a church of people who want to live in God's grace every day.

That's why we are called Grace Church. Grace is the heart of Christianity. Church is the place for helping each other grow.

Grace Church is moving to our new location in just a few weeks. MEMBERS: look here for updates.
