I Love My Life the Way It Is

A while back I ran into a website/blog called “I love my life the way it is.”  This guy has posted pictures...pictures of hundreds and hundreds of scratch-off lottery tickets. He has posted his personal collection of scratchers and they are all...get this...un-scratched. Thatʼs right, hundreds and hundred of tickets but he isnʼt playing the lottery. Why?  Because, as the title of his website states, he loves his life the way it is. The uncertainty of a yet to be discovered winning ticket is driving his friends and family a little crazy!

Now what about you? Do you love your life the way it is? Or are you still scratching? Oh, do you see? This could possibly be a most terribly accurate test. Could you send Ali your ticket? Do you love your life the way it is? Or are you still hoping, holding out...scratching. Recall the flow of  Ephesians, Dead now alive. Far off...now near. You were without hope and without God in this world. In Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.”

You were, as it were, good as dead and clean cut off...lifeless, and alone. But now...oh, this is the Gospel...you live and you live with Him. God has made a new man, a new race. Born of the Holy Spirit and united to The Son (Jesus Christ), the many have been made one. What then shall we say? Can we love our lives the way it is? What are we to make of our life the way it is? “So then!” So then you are no longer strangers and aliens but you are now what? There are three statements, three pictures that Paul gives in Ephesians. You are:

The Citizens of Heaven
The Sons of God
The Dwelling Place of God Himself

This is a declaration that, in no uncertain terms, God has scratched out a living for you.  He has done it and it is done...and it is so very very good.  Yes? Let us love our life the way it is. Amen?
