Resting in His Care

I am desperate for daily bread.  I am in need of something that brings peace to my troubled thoughts.  My mind is busy.  My temptations many.

God does not give me something to do or a set of ideas to believe.  He does not give me a list of religious disciplines.  He gives me himself.  He, the LORD, is my shepherd.  He is my God and am am his son.  He gives me everything.  I only receive.  Sin is removed.  Guilt is removed.  No further payment need be made.  He gives himself to me without restraint.

That is the message of Psalm 23.  I am His and He is mine -- all the time, even in the presence of my enemies.  He is not mine to delight in when my life is well.  He is mine to delight in when surrounded by adversaries.  So great is his provision that I may feast on him while surrounded by difficulties.

Christmas is the giving of God to us as Savior and Lord. We celebrate his coming Christmas Eve, 6 PM.  Come join us.
