We begin our study of the Book of Acts this week. Acts is the only incomplete book in the New Testament. It has an open ending. That's because the story is still being told.
After Jesus death and resurrection, his work continues, until his return. His cross-work purchased the church from every nation. Now the church must be called and formed. The church purchased must become the church actual.
Acts is the story of the exalted Christ, by the Spirit, calling his church from every nation through the witness of his people to his death and resurrection. Acts is not about the strategies and methods of the early church. Acts is not about the perfect and ideal church. Acts is about the work of Christ. His work begins of calling the church begins at Pentecost and continues to the present day.
At Grace Church in San Diego, we want to join with the Lord in his continuing work.
