Acts is the story of the building of the church.  God the Father planned to form a bride for His Son.  God the Son purchased the bride from sin and hell.  But nothing would happen unless God the Spirit applied the work of Christ to individuals and called the church into being.

We want to be infomed by a clear biblical teaching of the person and work of the Spirit.  We want to let that clear teaching be a means if discernment.

We live in the era of the Spirit.  God the Spirit is the member of the Godhead with whom we have immediate contact.  But his work in entirely about Christ.  We know the work of the Spirit by how he is applying the fruit of Christ's work for us.

But this does not lead us to passivity or complacency.  When we grasp and are affected by the white hot passion of God for the calling of the church, and when we know the Spirit of God is active to bring this into being, we will hunger for His work and ask for His work to deepen and broaden. We will pray boldness to proclaim Christ.  We will ask for conversions.  We will ask for the Spirit to stir gifts in the church.  We will pursue his work in our growth in godliness.  We will ask that it be powerful and intense and deep.

We desire His work to deepen at Grace Church and for the work of Christ to be applied to our lives and bear fruit in our community.
