Small Groups
We were designed to do life together. God never intended for us to live the Christian life alone. This truth is found at the very core of what Jesus accomplished on the Cross. He reconciled us both to himself and to each other. You might say we were meant for each other! Meaningful relationships, however, don't just happen. Our natural tendency is to live increasingly isolated lives. It's really hard to share your life with someone you only see on Sunday morning.
Small group ministry is our attempt to make relationships and community a reality at Grace Church. Our small groups meet 2-4 times per month in church members' homes throughout San Diego. Generally, each group consists of 12-20 adults and may or may not include young children.
The groups are led by men in the church who have been identified and trained by the pastoral team. Their role is that of a servant, facilitating the pursuit of God-centered relationships. Meetings typically include some singing, prayer, a group discussion, and time to enjoy conversation with each other. The goal is mutual care and the pursuit of godliness, with an emphasis on application rather than education. These are not bible studies. We are sharing our lives. It is in our small groups where people are helped to identify their spiritual gifts as well.
Our small groups meet all over the county.
